Despite Court Ruling Which Blocked Unconstitutional Law

Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com January 25, 2013

Illinois citizens are still being arrested for recording police officers despite a 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling last year that blocked the enforcement of the law on the grounds that it was unconstitutional.

Following yesterday’s story concerning residents of Naperville who attempted to resist utility workers invading their private property to install so-called ‘smart meters’ – which have been linked with health issues – it emerged that one of the refusniks, Malia “Kim” Bendis, was arrested on attempted eavesdropping charges for recording police officers during the incident.

The irony of citizens being arrested for supposedly “eavesdropping” on cops in public where there is no expectation of privacy, while simultaneously the government forcibly installs devices on people’s property that really do eavesdrop on them in total violation of the 4th amendment, is staggering. Remember – this is a state that threatens to send people to prison for life for recording police officers.

Two vocal opponents of Naperville’s initiative to install wireless electric meters on homes were arrested after interfering with the installation process, according to city officials.

Police are accompanying crews this week as they install smart meters at homes that previously sent away installers.

“The previous installation attempts were met with some resistance and we wanted to ensure our employees’ safety,” City Manager Doug Krieger said.

Naperville has installed smart meters on 57,000 homes and is about 99 percent through with the process. Officials have said the project will make the electric system more reliable and efficient and reduce costs.

Teen heroin use alarms suburbs

The end of dreams
Naperville forum aims to bring parents, law enforcement and treatment officials together

By Melissa Jenco, Chicago Tribune reporter July 15, 2012

The cost of heroin and the danger of using a needle to shoot it once kept many suburban teenagers away from the drug, experts say.

But those barriers have fallen in recent years, they note, leading to a rising tide of young users risking their lives with every hit.

Students show up at Naperville North Drunk

by admin on August 20, 2011

A number of students showed up for the first day of school at Naperville North High School Wednesday appearing to be intoxicated.

Some of the students have already been suspended while others are still being talked to about the situation.

According to School District 203 Director of Communications Susan Rice, a number of the students were observed acting in an unusual way Wednesday.

“A number of students showed up at school … possibly under the influence,” Rice said.

The district is not releasing an exact number of students involved in the situation.

Heroin exacting a toll on suburbia

This is not your parents’ heroin.

After gaining notoriety in the “psychedelic ’60s” before taking a back seat to cocaine, Ecstasy and other recreational drugs, abuse of the killer narcotic has resurged in recent years. Today heroin maintains a choke hold on many of those who abuse illegal substances, particularly young Chicago suburbanites. And it is deadlier than ever.

A recent Roosevelt University study found heroin use among teens in Chicago’s collar counties went up 46 percent between 2008 and 2009. The number of Illinois residents who checked in to publicly funded programs for treatment of addiction to the drug more than quadrupled from 1998 to 2008, reaching 17,411 at the end of the decade. Coroners’ records show that in DuPage and Will counties, 235 people died from heroin overdoses between 2005 and 2010. Three times in as many weeks last month, Naperville police arrested suspected heroin traffickers in the city.
