Councilman Joe McElroy wants to punish all of the bars in Naperville over a couple of drunk incidents.
Two years ago, McElroy called changing bar hours “the nuclear option,” but said Monday the fatal crash in the quarry was “the last straw.” He now is calling for bars to close “an hour or two” earlier.
Bars currently must close at 1 a.m. on weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends.
