SomosMonos Cervecería, a craft beer taproom at 1400 W. 46th St. in Back of the Yards, operates inside The Plant, the food and beverage business hub in a former meatpacking building. The brewery shares the taproom space there, known as The Jungle, with Whiner Beer Co.
The woman- and Mexican-owned brewery pours its own house beers, including the Chica Fresa strawberry blonde ale, along with canned beer available to take home. The business describes itself as “cerveza del barrio para el barrio” — beer from the neighborhood, for the neighborhood.
The taproom is open Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m., according to hours posted on its website.
