Savanna Restaurant serves breakfast, brunch and lunch at 3334 N. Halsted St. in Lakeview, in the space that previously housed Nookies Tree. The restaurant blends classic American breakfast dishes with Latin American flavors drawn from Ecuador.
The menu includes the llapingacho Benedict, an Ecuadorian potato cake topped with eggs and hollandaise, along with turkey chorizo hash, chilaquiles and a choriburrito. Other items include a Benedict trio served with chorizo, carnitas or smoked salmon, banana French toast, pancakes, waffles, skillets, omelettes and fresh-squeezed juices.
The Halsted Street location is one of several Savanna restaurants around Chicago, including locations in North Center and West Ridge, each serving a similar Latin-inflected breakfast and lunch menu.
