Sal’s On Tap has opened at 1645 W Jackson Boulevard in the Near West Side, a sports bar and restaurant just blocks from the United Center and in the heart of the Illinois Medical District. The business describes itself on its website as “Chicago’s newest place to eat, drink, celebrate, and cheer.”
The menu includes smoked bone-in chicken wings, loaded nachos, mussels, Texas ale chili, chicken and sausage gumbo, chicken Francese, and specialty pizzas such as meat lovers, ham and pineapple, and barbecue chicken. Burgers, street tacos, a 12-ounce strip steak, salmon, and fish and chips round out the entrees, alongside a full bar and craft beer on tap.
Sal’s On Tap is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the kitchen serving until 8 p.m. and a late-night menu from 8 to 10 p.m. The restaurant seats large groups and private events and offers a complimentary shuttle to and from United Center games and concerts.
