The Oakville Grill & Cellar Pours California Wine Country Into Fulton Market

The Oakville Grill & Cellar brings a California wine-country concept to Fulton Market at 163 N Green St, pairing live-fire cooking with what it calls the largest all-California wine list in Chicago — more than 750 labels. The restaurant is a partnership between wine director Richard Hanauer, chef Maxwell Robbins and Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants.

The menu draws on partnerships with California and Midwest farms, ranches and wineries, with oak wood-grilled dishes alongside pizza, pasta, seafood and salads. Weekend brunch runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with items like pancakes, benedicts and breakfast burritos. The Cellar Door, a small private tasting room inside the restaurant, hosts monthly winery partnerships with guided tastings and pairings.

The two-story space seats about 200 in the main dining room, with additional seating upstairs for private events and multiple outdoor areas, including a covered mews and a terrace. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., in the bar area.

The Oakville Grill & Cellar is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. More information and reservations are available at theoakville.com.
