Zenwich Brings Asian-Inspired Sandwiches to Edgewater

Zenwich has opened a second location in Edgewater, at 1124 W. Thorndale Ave. just west of the Thorndale Red Line stop. The Asian-inspired sandwich shop has run its original location in Elmhurst since 2009, and the Edgewater spot serves the same menu under chef Chai Ploentham.

The menu centers on toasted ciabatta sandwiches, including Thai BBQ pork belly, spicy garlic shrimp, Sichuan spicy chicken, basil crab cake, Taiwanese braised pork, and lemon garlic chicken. Every sandwich can also be ordered as a rice paper wrap, a red quinoa bowl, or a teriyaki rice bowl, with tofu available as a vegetarian substitute. Sides include spicy seasoned fries.
