Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy Offers Early Childhood and K-8 Catholic Education in Lakeview

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy, a Catholic school at 720 W. Belmont Ave. in Lakeview, pairs early childhood programs for children from infancy through age four with a full K-8 academic program. Founded in 1888 alongside Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, the school has twice been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

The academy’s Preschool 3&4 program meets Monday through Friday with half-day and full-day options. According to the school’s website, students take part in classroom and outdoor learning, weekly instruction in music, Spanish and studio art, and hands-on nature exploration in the school’s Nature Play Space.

A separate program, the Wildcat Den, serves infants and toddlers as a supervised baby-and-toddler play space, listed alongside Preschool 3&4 under the academy’s admissions section.
