The Bakehouse Chicago bakes pastries, cakes and coffee drinks at its Southport Avenue cafe in Lakeview, one of three locations the bakery runs in the neighborhood along with shops on North Sheridan Road and in Roscoe Village. All three are open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The case includes croissants and other French and Venezuelan-style pastries, cheeseballs, cookies, cake pops, guava cookies and alfajores, with vegan and gluten-free options alongside coffee drinks and bagel breakfast sandwiches.
The bakery also builds custom cakes to order, with sizes ranging from a 6-inch cake for 8 to 10 guests up to a 12-inch cake for 40 to 46 guests, more than 30 flavor combinations, and a request form for quotes with at least four days’ notice.
