Mott St serves Asian night-market inspired shared plates at 1401 N Ashland Ave in Wicker Park. The restaurant comes from the team behind Ruxbin — Executive Chef Edward Kim and partners Nate Chung, Vicki Kim and Jenny Kim — who built the concept around late-night cravings and the flavors of Kim’s Korean-American upbringing, blending eastern cooking techniques with Chicago ingredients.
The dinner menu is organized into veggies and sides, meat, seafood and dessert, with dishes such as crispy chili cauliflower, soy-ginger steak kalbi, miso-and-maple misoyaki butterfish, and a miso caramel budino for dessert. Weekend brunch adds dishes like a pork belly benedict, alongside a cocktail list that includes the White Lotus, made with vodka, gin, shochu, sake and lychee.
Dining is family-style, built around a well-lauded bar program and an open pantry that brings guests into the kitchen, with a patio for outdoor seating in season.
