Suncatcher Brewing, a neighborhood pub brewery at 2849 W. Chicago Ave. in Humboldt Park, pours a rotating list of house-made beers alongside guest drafts. The current lineup includes an IPA built with Pacific Northwest hops, a low-ABV Porter with a touch of rye, a Michigan Pale Ale, an Island Lager conditioned with passionfruit, an Australian-style XPA and a rye-touched Brown Ale, served as pints, 12-ounce sessions, tasters or 32-ounce crowlers to go.
The taproom opens onto a large back patio with a pergola, string lights and fire pits, where leashed dogs and kids are welcome. The Gilty Pig food truck sets up on-site on weekends; the rest of the week, guests can bring their own food. It’s walk-ins only — Suncatcher doesn’t take reservations because of limited space — though the room can be rented privately on Tuesdays.
Alongside its own beers, Suncatcher keeps a short guest-draft list that has included Eris Blush Cider, Half Acre Light Lager and La Chouffe Belgian Blond, plus non-alcoholic options. More at suncatcherbrewing.com.
Suncatcher Brewing is open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 10 p.m., closed Tuesdays; current hours and the full beer list are posted on the website.
