Siete Azul, a coastal Mexican seafood restaurant and bar, has opened at 2333 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Logan Square, in the space that formerly housed the Chicago Diner.
The menu draws on mariscos traditions from Michoacán, with dishes such as butter-lime sautéed scallops in a poblano sauce, shrimp empanadas made with purple masa and Chihuahua cheese, and Huachinango Zarandeado, a whole red snapper grilled low and slow. Classic options including tacos al pastor and ceviche round out the menu, alongside house sauces and purple-corn-flour tortillas.
The restaurant is currently BYOB, with a full bar expected in the coming weeks. Siete Azul’s website lists hours as Sunday through Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m.; it’s closed Wednesdays.
For current hours, the full menu and pickup orders, check Siete Azul’s website or @sieteazulchicago on Instagram.
