Gunny’s Pub has opened at 2642 N Lincoln Ave in Lincoln Park, taking over the space long occupied by Racine Plumbing Bar & Grill. The all-day neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar serves lunch, dinner, coffee, beer, wine and cocktails, with a casual front room and a quieter back dining area lit by a skylight.
The menu leans into Midwestern comfort food, from deviled egg flights (classic, Chicago-style and lobster versions) to duck liver mousse, duck poutine, stuffed cheese bread, a bavette steak, roasted duck breast and a backroom burger. Sides include wedge-cut fries, crispy Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese, and the kitchen also offers a caviar service for guests who want to splurge.
At the bar, the focus is on classic cocktails made well: martinis, Manhattans, Old Fashioneds and a Negroni, alongside original drinks built around Midwestern ingredients and seasonal flavors. A rotating draft list and a short wine list round out the options, along with shot combos that play on Chicago references.
