Halaleez Chicken & Gyro has opened in the Loop at 400 S. Financial Place, a narrow storefront near the Chicago Board of Trade Building. The fast-casual spot serves NYC-style halal cart food — chicken and gyro over rice platters — with all meat certified halal by the Halal Food Standards Alliance of America.
Platters are built from chopped lettuce, cucumber and tomato, seasoned rice and crispy fries, topped with a choice of chicken, lamb gyro or a chicken-and-gyro combo and finished with the kitchen’s white, red and green sauces. Falafel platters and gyro wraps are also on the menu, which is posted in full on the online ordering page.
The Financial Place location is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.; it is closed Sundays. Halaleez also runs a second Chicago-area location in Lombard. Current hours and online ordering are at halaleez.com.
