Heritage Outpost serves coffee from the ground-floor lobby of Lawrence House, the renovated 1928 Art Deco building at 1020 W. Lawrence Ave. in Uptown. The counter pours espresso drinks made with beans the company roasts in Chicago, alongside a case of daily pastries.
The shop shares the building’s restored lobby — with its original stained-glass skylight and terrazzo floor — with Larry’s, a cocktail bar, and a patio out back with fire pits and string lights. Heritage Outpost and Larry’s are both run by Chicago-based Heritage Hospitality Group, which also operates Heritage Bikes & Coffee, FROTH and Bunker.
Along with drip coffee and espresso, the counter has served pastries and quiche from the case, plus daytime pours of mimosas, rosé and a bourbon latte.
