Inner Town Pub Keeps East Village’s Classic Dive Bar Spirit Alive

The Inner Town Pub has been pouring cheap beer and free pool games at 1935 W Thomas St in East Village for decades, and it’s still going strong. The bar calls itself “a classic Chicago joint” offering free pool, darts, and a lineup of beer, liquor, and cocktails at dive bar prices.

The drink menu runs eight beers on draft, more than 20 bottle and can options, and a rotating list of cocktails. The low-lit room, known for its stained glass and cluttered, bohemian decor, has long doubled as a hangout for regulars and a stop for showgoers heading to nearby music venues.

Inner Town also hosts regular programming, including a monthly comedy night. Its Instagram account has been posting through the fall, including event promotions and drink specials, with a bio note confirming the bar is open: “The ITP is BACK and better than ever.”

The pub keeps regular hours Monday through Sunday. Check current hours and events at innertownpub.com or on Instagram @innertownpub.
