La Mom Kitchen operates a Shanghainese and Sichuan restaurant at 5357 N Broadway, Unit A, in Edgewater. The location is one of three the brand runs in the Chicago area, alongside restaurants in La Grange and Naperville.
The lunch menu includes mapo tofu, twice-cooked pork, Mongolian chicken, sweet and sour chicken, kung pao chicken and basil chicken, as well as Mongolian beef, orange beef and basil beef. Stir-fried Shanghai bok choy, salt and pepper shrimp and hot and spicy shrimp round out the lunch offerings, which are served with white rice and an egg roll.
Hours at the Edgewater location are 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with Sunday hours from noon to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant is closed Tuesdays.
