Prasino Opens Mediterranean Café in the Loop

Prasino, a Mediterranean-inspired café, has opened at 33 S. Wabash Ave. in the Loop, its first downtown Chicago location. The roughly 3,300-square-foot café serves breakfast, lunch, coffee and grab-and-go options to office workers, students, commuters and residents in the area, with dine-in seating alongside takeout and online ordering.

The menu includes Greek yogurt bowls, açai, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, salads, flatbreads with house-made dips, and signature plates such as an Aegean frittata and ahi tuna tataki with a bok choy salad, along with smoothies and a coffee, tea and matcha bar.

Prasino has served the Chicago area for more than 15 years and says it sources from local suppliers including Slagel Farms, Scherger’s Kettle and Testa Produce, along with cage-free eggs and regeneratively farmed coffee. More on the menu and concept is at eatprasino.com.

The Wabash café is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; catering is listed as coming soon. Current hours and ordering are posted at eatprasino.com.
