TimeLine Theatre Company has moved into its first permanent home at 5035 N. Broadway in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, a 33,000-square-foot building near Broadway and Argyle that includes a 250-seat black box theater, exhibit galleries, a rehearsal hall and a street-level bar and café.
The company, founded in 1997 to present stories inspired by history, recently closed the world-premiere run of The Birth of the Pill, a play by Jessica Huang based on Jonathan Eig’s book about the origin of the birth control pill. Current and upcoming productions are listed at timelinetheatre.com.
The ground-floor Bar & Café is open to the public beyond performance times, serving coffee and light fare by day and drinks and appetizers in the evening, with hours posted weekly on the theater’s site.
Tickets and current hours for the Bar & Café are posted at timelinetheatre.com, or by calling the box office at 773-281-8463.
