ZKtutors, an online tutoring service based in Hyde Park, offers one-on-one instruction in math, computer science and SAT/ACT test preparation for students in grades 5 through 12. Sessions are held over Zoom with screen sharing and a digital whiteboard, and families receive a written summary after each lesson.
The service is run by Zoa, who has nearly a decade of tutoring experience, including three years as an instructional professor at a top-100 U.S. university, and holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Chicago. ZKtutors describes its approach as student-led, using guided questions rather than lectures to find the root causes behind a student’s struggles and build stronger foundations.
Sessions run 55 minutes and are priced at $80 an hour for math and computer science or $110 an hour for SAT/ACT prep, with discounts of 5 to 15 percent available on packages of five, 10 or 20 sessions; unused sessions can be refunded before they expire. New families can book a free 15-minute consultation through the ZKtutors website.
Hours, pricing details and booking are available at zktutors.com, along with a contact form for scheduling questions.
