Dell’ Rooster, a Latin American restaurant and bar on Chicago Avenue in West Town, serves pan-Latin breakfast, brunch and dinner from co-owner and chef Miguel Tenesaca. The menu includes a Valencia-style seafood paella with shrimp, mussels, clams, saffron and Bomba rice, and Cuban-style braised oxtail with sweet plantains, queso fresco and pickled onions.
Brunch dishes draw on South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, including jibaritos made with fried plantain in place of bread, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros enchiladas and a crispy rooster sandwich. A large rooster mural covers one wall of the dining room.
Dell’ Rooster is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; closed Monday and Tuesday. The restaurant takes reservations and also hosts private parties and catering.
