Gingie has opened at 707 N. Wells St. in River North, a contemporary American restaurant led by chef-partner Brian Lockwood in collaboration with the James Beard Award-winning Boka Restaurant Group. The restaurant describes its approach as dishes that feel “both recognizable and entirely new,” built on live-fire cooking and classical technique.
The menu is organized into shareables, specialties and pastas, with dishes such as mushroom-sweetbread cornets, heritage half chicken, and a seafood platter service, alongside a honey meringue dessert. Lockwood’s background includes stints at The French Laundry, Frasca Food and Wine, NoMad and Eleven Madison Park.
Gingie is open for dinner nightly: Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers private events and gift cards.
