The latest episode of the Second City Suffering Report, a daily podcast about Chicago sports fandom, leads with the biggest Bears move of the season: the trade for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.
The Bears sent their 2027 and 2028 first-round draft picks and a 2027 fourth-round pick to Tennessee for Simmons, and get a 2028 fifth-round pick back, according to the Titans. Simmons is the third player the Bears have acquired for two first-round picks, after Khalil Mack in 2018 and Jay Cutler in 2009.

The six-minute episode, released Oct. 30, also covers the Cubs watching five starters head into free agency in one afternoon and the Blackhawks’ 4-1 loss at Detroit. The show rates the day 6 out of 10 on its “Suffering Index.”
