Tabu and Rooftop Bar Tetto Anchor a Corner of West Loop’s Morgan Street

Tabu serves Latin fusion shareable plates and an agave-focused cocktail list at 401 N. Morgan St., on the corner of Morgan and Kinzie in the West Loop. The restaurant’s bar is built around mezcal and tequila. Bar Tabú takes reservations and is closed Monday and Tuesday.

The dining room includes a ceiling made from thousands of individually cut ropes, pop-art murals and a sunken cocktail lounge.

One floor up, the same building holds Tetto, an Italian-inspired rooftop bar serving cocktails and pizza and other dishes from Trattoria RNB, with recipes drawing on Rome, Naples and Bari traditions. Tetto’s deck looks out over the city skyline and currently keeps evening hours Thursday through Saturday, with a limited early reservation window.

Both rooms are cashless, card and digital payment only. Hours, menus and reservations for Tabu and Tetto are posted at bartabu.com and tettochicago.com.
