The Windsor Tavern and Grill sits on the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Windsor Avenue in Portage Park, a wood-sided neighborhood pub whose marquee carries the motto “Where Friends Come to Meet.” The tavern is run under the name Caruso’s, L.L.C.
The kitchen serves thin-crust pizza in 14-, 16- and 18-inch sizes alongside bar food that includes wings, nachos, quesadillas, Caesar and Cobb salads, wraps, a half-pound char-grilled burger, fish and chips, steak tacos and an Italian beef sandwich. A rotating lineup of weekly specials covers the bar, including Trivia Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., a Wednesday pizza-and-wine deal and a Thursday burger, fries and pint combo.
Outside, a patio with umbrella-covered tables and planter boxes lines the Milwaukee Avenue side of the building, and the bar opens early on Sundays and for Monday Night Football outside its regular hours. The Windsor Tavern and Grill’s website lists a rotating craft beer selection alongside the tavern’s regular drink menu.
The Windsor Tavern and Grill is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 11 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from noon to 1 a.m. and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.; it’s closed Mondays apart from football nights. Current hours and the full menu are posted at windsortavernandgrill.com.
