Yu-Yubu Brings Inari Sushi and Matcha to the Shops at North Bridge

Yu-Yubu has opened on the fourth level of The Shops at North Bridge, 520 N. Michigan Ave., in the Streeterville section of the Magnificent Mile. The counter specializes in yubu, inari-style sushi made with tofu pockets, alongside donburi rice bowls, poke bowls and matcha drinks.

The yubu come filled with options including salmon, torched salmon, spicy tuna, creamy crab, beef bulgogi and teriyaki chicken, plus vegetarian fillings like miso butter corn and king mushroom. They’re sold individually or in sets of three or five. The donburi menu includes salmon, torched salmon and beef bulgogi bowls, and the poke menu runs from the YuYuBu bowl to the 312 and Tokyo bowls.

Matcha is hand-whisked with charcoal-filtered water, with a choice of Japanese or Chinese single-origin leaves, served with milk, purified water or coconut water. Yu-Yubu describes itself on Instagram as a sister concept to 2D Restaurant, the Lakeview cafe known for its hand-drawn, comic-book-style interior.

Yu-Yubu is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with hours extended to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Current hours and the full menu are posted at yu-yubu.com.
