March 29, 2011 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — ABC7’s news partners at the Daily Herald report that low levels of radiation from Japan have been discovered in samples taken in DuPage and Will counties. The levels are not harmful to humans, crops or the water supply.
Meanwhile, a fundraiser took place in Chicago Tuesday night to benefit those affected by the disaster in Japan. It was hosted by the Japan America Society of Chicago at the River North restaurant Japonais. All proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross.
