The Chicago City Council is expected to begin its budget hearings next week, and Alderman Edward Burke, 14th, says he wants city officials consider outsourcing some administrative work.
Burke says with the lagging economy, it makes sense to have some work done by the private sector. He points to zoning and economic development as two areas where some of the work could be privatized.
BURKE: There’s plenty of professionals out there–lawyers and accountants–who are looking for business that would be happy to perform that function.
