Questions Raised about Elmhurst Police fight and Tasing

By Dave Matthews, June 20, 2011

The trials for an Elmhurst family charged after a March fight and Tasing at Spring Inn have been pushed to Aug. 1 as their attorney continues to compile witnesses.

“Ultimately, we’ll get justice,” attorney Vince Solano said.

Solano represents Bryan, Brian and Steven Connell of Elmhurst, who were charged with battery and other charges the day of the Elmhurst St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Spring Inn. Steven Connell was Tased after local police said he attacked an officer.

The men made brief court appearances this morning.

Solano said his firm receives calls from witnesses “every couple of days” with accounts of what happened.

“Almost all of them, to a T, completely contradict the police,” he said.
