LOVES PARK, IL—According to the SBA, nearly 52 percent of all businesses are home-based, and that number has steadily increased in the last few years.
Robert Smith started his home business at his dining room table while working full time at the library. Within 20 years he’s become a 3 time award winning entrepreneur and has been featured in many top business magazines.
Today, he announced his new site www.tinyurl.com/homebusiness2020 to help others who want to start a business.
” With proper training, a good mentor, and passion anybody can succeed in business. I’m living proof,” beams Smith, former President of The International African American Entrepreneurs
Association
While his success stems from two decades of experience, Smith says there are several tips he would like to pass on to others who may want to follow
in his home-based business footsteps.
1. Always be marketing. It’s important to constantly introduce your product or service to new customers.
2. Join business groups such as Chamber of Commerce, BNI, or LeTip. As you grow to six figures or more consider mastermind groups like Joe Polish Genius Network, John Carlton Mastermind Group, Scott Hallman, and Entrepreneurs Organization (E0)
3. Stay focused. It’s easy to get distracted at home so focus on what brings in the sales and outsource everything else. If you are a creative than find someone to sell your product or services using sites like fiverr.com, PeoplePerHour, or upwork.
4. Find partners. Joint venture partnerships allow you to grow your home business faster with very little risk because your partners will
have an established customer based, distribution channel, and name recognition. A few good teachers on partnerships are Jay Abraham and
Sohail Khan
